‘Til Yahoo Takes Our Back Links Away

If you’ve been visiting  here for a while, you know that here at We Build Pages we have a long tradition of setting our geekiness to music. That is, re- writing popular songs to be about SEO and link building.  In honor of the impending phase out of the “link domain” command in Yahoo, we add this contribution to our ever growing list of SEO parodies.

‘Til Yahoo Takes our Back Links Away

(To the Tune of the Beach Boys “Fun Fun Fun”)

Well, we had our Yahoo scans
And we cruised through our profile of links now
Seems we forgot all about the new updates
that they told us would come down.

And with the link domain workin’ we’re
learnin’ just as much as we can, now

Chorus 1:
And we’ll have fun, fun, fun
‘Til the Yahoo takes our Back Links away
(Fun, fun, fun,’Til the Yahoo takes our Back Links away)

Verse 2:

Well, the pros can’t stand it
‘Cause it looks like we might have to pay now
(You might have to pay, now, you might have to pay)
For the Open Site Explorer
or Majestic that’s ahead of the race now
(You might have to pay, now, you might have to pay)
A lot of guys try to catch em
But they’re laughin’ all the way to the bank, now
(They run to the bank, now, they run to the bank)

Chorus 2:

But we’ll have fun, fun, fun
‘Til the Yahoo takes our Back Links away
(Fun, fun, fun,’Til the Yahoo takes our Back Links away)

Verse 3:

Well, we knew all along
That Yahoo’s gettin’ wise to the game, now
(You shouldn’t-deny, now, you shouldn’t-deny)
and Google killed the link domain
long ago, just to keep us confused now
(they shouldn’t-a lied, now, they shouldn’t-a lied)
But you can come along with me
‘Cause ya know that we’ll figure it out now
(You don’t have to cry, now, you don’t have to cry)

Chorus 3:

But we’ll have fun, fun, fun
‘Til the Yahoo takes our Back Links away
(Fun, fun, fun,’Til the Yahoo takes our Back Links away!

  1. Why webmasters hide their links is beyond me completely. What exactly are they scared of? That someone may leave their site and go to another site? I have news for you, that’s what internet users do, they go from site to site it’s how the web works.
