Would you put a computer chip in your body?

I was just reading over on Yahoo News about a guy who had a RFID (radio frequency identification) computer chip put in his hand. Now,

With a wave of his hand (he) …. opens his front door. With another, he logs onto his computer.

Check out the whole article here.

I can just see in a few years not ever having to carry around a wallet, credit cards, keys, etc.

I can see walking into a store, paying with the wave of my hand, unlocking my car with a wave of my hand, turning on my computer with a wave of my hand….oh yea….I want my RFID chip!

Would you ever put a computer chip in your body?

  1. Only problem with that is – if someone is determined to steal your car, break into your house… what’s the only way? Amputation – that would be fun, you’ll have a load of criminals running around with axes.

  2. I’d be more concerned with tracking. In the UK they are already moving towards tracking the movement of every car through a nationwide system of cameras hooked up to a database.

Also, what about choice? Will we have to be chipped, or will you still have the option of using cash?

  3. I’d think it would be too easy to clone the RFID signal and thus “hack into” somebody’s life. The technology just isn’t secure enough yet.

  4. The Christains are definatley going to have a hay day with their, “I told you so”

    Revelations 13:16-17
“He causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, to be given marks on their right hands, or on their foreheads; and that no one would be able to buy or to sell, unless he has that mark, the name of the beast or the number of his name.”

    Spooky prediction!!

  5. You guys are a riot.

I think this is one of those things where… if we polled the American population… a majority would say they would never install a computer chip in their hands.

I think history will show otherwise.

I’ll let the early adopters work out the bugs and expose the health risks over the next few years… and I’ll probably “adopt” once the kinks are worked out.

  6. Hello:

Computer chips implantation is going to be the wave of the future as development in nanotechnology advances rapidly and that is going to make our lives a lot much more better, don’t you think so? Wave your hand, and your door opens. No need to fumble for keys!
