Barry started blogging in 2003. He never quite thanks for being consistent. He publishes 5-10 blog posts a day.

The routine is very important. Having a routine means you don’t need to make time to blog, so you never skip a day.

In terms of motivations, Barry’s biggest reward is being helpful. Barry is motivated when people say that his blogging really helped someone, like promoted someone’s career.

Barry doesn’t consider himself an SEO or a journalist.

Barry loves them all and thinks they are all amazing and genuinely caring people but his favorite Googler is Danny Sullivan because he had worked with Barry prior to joining Google, taught him a lot and remains a friend.

DuckDuckGo seems to be going down: They see fewer searches every month. This may be because of the recent privacy scandal.

Apple Search has been talked about forever but it never happened.

Barry uses a variety of tools and sources: He uses RSS feeds of SEO blogs, he follows Twitter lists using Tweetdeck and has some alerts set up to be notified of news via email.
