Simmons to breathe fire into clients’ success as IMN CMO.
Rocker Gene Simmons, famous for being both the bassist of KISS and a reality TV star, is taking his wealth of marketing experience to the Internet, according to his new employer.
CLIFTON PARK, NY — Internet Marketing Ninjas, a prominent search engine marketing firm based just north of Albany, NY, announced Friday that Simmons has been hired as chief marketing officer for the company.
“We’re thrilled to have Gene on board,” said Jim Boykin, the firm’s founder and CEO. “KISS has made millions over the years, and that’s not just because of their great music: It’s also because of their brilliant marketing.”
“KISS has made millions over the years, and that’s not just because of their great music: It’s also because of their brilliant marketing.”
“Why should ‘The Demon’ have all of the fun?” he said. “I’ve already planned out my new look: On Mondays, I’ll be ‘The Ninjaman.’”
Simmons is no stranger to the corporate world. In fact, he starred in The Celebrity Apprentice, earning a $20,000 donation to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation for leading his team in the creation of a dog food commercial.
“I’ve spent years marketing myself and my band,” Simmons said Friday, “from promoting KISS action figures, comic books, condoms, and even coffins to starring in my own reality show, Gene Simmons Family Jewels. Now, it’s time for something new. I’m looking forward to the challenge of becoming a Ninja and helping other brands to be as successful as I’ve been.”
But Simmons doesn’t have to worry about following an executive dress code in his new role. In fact, Boykin said that he’s planning to institute “Makeup Mondays” around the office.
