How do you know what is a good link and what is a bad link?

One of the biggest red flags pointing us to “bad” links is anchor text.
Exact-match anchor text (i.e. backlinks that have exact keywords as an anchor text) usually signals of a poor backlink profile that needs fixing, especially if there are a lot of backlinks with the same SEO-driven anchor text.
To fix a backlink profile:
- Those links need to be removed or disavowed
- New trusted links need to be built. These are branded links as well as links that reference high-quality content on your site.
