In 2011, Google’s Panda update rolled out many changes to the search engine’s algorithm Since then, Panda has gone through a series of updates itself. Panda focuses on the quality of the content on a site. Unlike manual penalties, which can be tracked and fixed, a change to Google’s algorithm is more subtle. It can have a hugely negative impact on search rankings with no notification or reasoning behind why a site might have been impacted. To “get out” of Panda, a site owner has to make an effort to improve thin content and fix other site issues.
