Forward Link SEO Tool – Improved and Free Today.
I know in the past I’ve talked about Forward Links – Because who you link to matters.
We’ve recently been working on tweeking some of our SEO Tools, and I thought I’d show you one addition we’ve added to Forward Link tool. I came up with the idea to add another column that flags possible problem pages on other sites that you might be linking out to because it makes life easier when you’re reviewing a list of around 500 urls, to know which are the "possible bad ones".
So I came up with a few ideas to flag possible pages you might be linking to, that might be worth a closer look to see if you should continue to link there, or if you should remove that link. A few days ago my programmer added a 4th column to our Forward link tool that now flags possible "problem" pages that you might be linking out to.
Check out the Forward Link SEO Tool, a new improvement from the We Build Pages SEO Tools. It took 12 minutes and 31 seconds to complete a run of www.jimboykin.com through this tool…but it’s worth the wait….you get a nice little summary when it’s finished as well
The Forward Link tool looks at:
1. Who You Link To (what other sites your site links out to).
2. The Title tags of those pages on other sites that you link out to.
3. Shows if that site links back to you (is it Reciprocal?)
4. And now we’ve just added a new column called "Possible Problem Links"
(we flag ‘em, you check them and decide if you think it’s a "problem link")

Jim, I can’t tell for myself, because I am getting this error when I run the tool (at least, I think this is what is causing it to freeze):
Software error:
Illegal division by zero at forward-link-title-tag-tool-6.1.pl line 444.
But what would be the major difference between this tool and the Bad Neighborhood checker?
I mean, you check title tags, which I didn’t think to do… and for reciprocity. Any other big differences?

It’s actually quite different. We don’t look at redirects, we don’t check if sites have lots of backlinks from blog, we don’t check the number of links on a page…
ours is quite simple…who do you link to, what’s the title tag, is is a reciprocal link, and is that page you’re linking to possibly “in trouble with google”.

Hmmmm, it tells me linking to http://www.jimboykin.com/jim-boykin might be a problem. I guess I need to remove those links

Jeremy…the tool did it’s job correctly…. you were linking to
http://www.jimboykin.com/jim-boykin
which is a page that doesn’t exist in the eyes of google.
the correct page is
http://www.jimboykin.com/jim-boykin/ (with the “/” at the end)…that’s the page google knows exists…otherwise you’d be linking to something google was unaware of…thus a flag.

Jim, certain URL’s are crashing, others are working just fine. I can’t see pattern, as some sites have some pages working and some not. Do you want a few of the URL’s for debugging? I sent you one by replying to the email notification for when someone posts a comment here, but not sure if that went through or not.

Got your email.
The page you sent me wasn’t even cached in google…that can cause the tool to break.
This tool works best when you just put in a website homepage…
It’s designed to see who a WEBSITE is linking out to…not a specific webpage.

the tool is working correctly…same problem Jeremy had above…your link:
http://www.internetmarketingninjas.com/cclass
is a page that does not exist in the eyes of google.
So keep in mind, you’re linking to a URL that is not indexed in Google.
the correct url is:
http://www.internetmarketingninjas.com/cclass/ (with the “/” at the end).

Hi Jim,
I want to give you kudos on another great tool. I’m bookmarking the tool once I post this.
Besides that, I regularly use the common backlinks hubfinder for building links, and have been planning my own version that would produce more actionable data. Would you care to split the development costs?

Nice tool, but takes much time for me, i am on 1MB internet line and it has taken 30 minutes to check one web site……….But overall nice work
