Non SEO – Drinking Breast Milk, and Eating Pickled Pork Rinds.

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

I’ve just spent the last 1/2 hour laughing my butt off….mind if I share?

I somehow stumbled upon a blog called "The Sneeze" put out be Steve ?

Full of killer funny stuff.

Check out this blog category called "Steve, Don’t Eat it!"

Here Steve eats: Potted Meat, Pickled pork rinds, Beggin’ Strips, Urlel-O’s from 1991, Brease Milk, Prison wine, and other strange "food" items.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten?

Introduce yourself – who are you?

Thursday, January 5th, 2006

Blogs are a funny thing in that you usually never really know who’s reading your blog.

I’d like to break that by asking for anyone reading my blog to add a comment with a little bit about yourself. You can even post a link to your company.

Who are you and what do you do?

Henry Boone of sellingwhiz.com alexa, barnsandnoble, and blog spammer.

Wednesday, December 28th, 2005

Back in November webuildpages.com got our first Alexa review (has since been removed) from a person named Henry Boone of sellingwhiz.com who gave us a review, yet he didn’t know us at all, and was pushing his site (sellingwhiz.com) in his review of us. He did the same to hundreds of other internet marketing sites within a 2 day period. After I bitched about this, Henry Boone of sellingwhiz.com then came into my blog and made a few posts.

I started to reply to his latest post, but after my fifth curse, I thought it might be better to ask my readers their thoughts on Henry Boone of sellingwhiz.com and his marketing tactics.

What are your thoughts on Henry Boone of sellingwhiz.com and his marketing tactics?

People who believe the SEO Magic Bullet Theory.

Thursday, December 22nd, 2005

I often get people who fill out the form on webuildpages.com that have no clue as to how Search Engine Optimization works (not that there’s anything wrong with that).

I have no problem with the "talk" of how search engines rank sites (I do it all the time….words on the pages, theme of site, resource, links, yada yada)….but what do you do when someone comes to you that has learned things all wrong….they believe that out there there’s some SEO magic bullet that will get them #1 in all engines for all their targeted phrases they want?

Case in point, I got this email today:

I am looking for a company that can do my advertising for me. I do not want to do a pay per click. I know there are companies out there where you pay them a flat Fee and than they just get you in the top of all seach engines and keep you there for a flat price every month so what would it cost to do that?

here is my site  www.XXXXXXXXX.com

and do you make websites where you get it in the top 10 and you link it to this so it will be in the top 10 of all search engines?

I don’t mind those who say " I want to be #1, how does this work, and what will it take?" I do this every day….but for those who believe there’s an SEO magic bullet to be #1 for everything everywhere, I really don’t want to talk with them….I just feel that they’ll listen to me for second…and then think "this guy’s not telling me about the SEO magic bullet…he doesn’t know what he’s doing…when I’m done here, I’m going to contact the next guy until I get one who’ll guarantee #1 in all the engines"….and he just might find that someone to tell him what he wants to hear.

Am I passing on lost opportunities? What would you do with email leads like these?

Anthony Robbins, Matthew Lesko, and Mike Grehan

Saturday, September 10th, 2005

I’ll be going to see Anthony Robbins in NYC Sept 16-19. I’m going partly to see "how he does his presentations" as well as maybe I can pick up some knowledge to better myself. Now that I’m speaking at Search Engine Strategies Conferences and Webmasterworld conferences, I’m seeking to better my presentations. I can see myself jumping around and screaming like Matthew Lesko, with the charisma of Anthony/Tony Robbins, with the confidence and entertaining value of Mike Grehan. – Yea right, all that in the 10-15 minutes we get to speak. Speaking of Lesko, I used to be a reseller for him, even had a quote from him on We Build Pages, allow me to share it with you: Matthew Lesko"Once you start doing something you love, you want to do it no matter how much money you are making. And you are going to do it better than most people around you because you are thinking about it all the time. You are going to take it home at night. You see it as a challenging puzzle. That is how I see my work. I do not think about it just nine to five. It is running through my mind all the time. So, if my competitor is only thinking about it nine to five, I am outworking them and out thinking them because I am doing it all the time. And when you live what you are doing that means it probably comes naturally to you, and it comes more naturally to you than others. You will not be forcing your body or your mind to do something that is unnatural. When you are born to do a task, you are going to do it better than other people." Matthew Lesko. I’m that way with internet marketing. I don’t stop thinking about it. Even my wife knows that much of the time she’s speaking to me, my mind is off in SEO Land. I wonder if others of you are that way too?
