• Capture customer requirements for website initial design and redesign
• Create wireframes and mockups for review by customers
• Develops site navigation by categorizing content; funneling traffic through content.
• Develops site content and graphics by coordinating with copywriters and graphic artists; designing images, icons, banners, audio enhancements, etc.
• Upgrades site by updating content and graphics
• Maintains site appearance by developing and enforcing content and display standards; editing submissions.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Work with sales and customer service to develop proposals for prospective customers and to act in a pre-sales capacity on telephone calls

• Solid skills in creative graphic design, with an eye for typography, palette development, intuitive layout, and a pixel-level attention to detail
• Extreme proficiency in working with websites that incorporate AJAX, CSS, Javascript and Jquery
• Strong skills in major graphic software programs, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator
• Experience with creating and modifying templates within CMS systems such as Wordpress (most important), Joomla, or Drupal
• Experience working within PHP to support design components of the user interface
• Extreme proficiency with CSS3 and an understanding of new HTML5 elements and concepts
• Strong background in designing wireframes, prototypes, and comps for any given stage of design process.
• Have the ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Can work both independently and as part of a team with strong communications skills - within a department, intradepartmental and with clients

Strongly Desired (these are not required, but would put you ahead if in combination with the above requirements). Experience with...

• Social networking APIs (Twitter and Facebook) and developing applications using the API's
• Developing SEO focused websites
• Responsive web development
• Creating website information architecture, site maps, conversion-oriented designs.
• Shopify, Magento and/or eCommerce site creation and management
• vBulletin
• Building website and social network widgets and apps
• Logo design
• Non-web mediums such as print
• Estimating time/cost for projects and writing proposals.
• Version control systems, preferably Git

Other Requirements:

• Online portfolio of proven, client-facing work is required.
• Prefer candidates with completed degrees in design or application development
