A brief biography of Kris Jones

A well-known and respected member of the SEO and internet marketing industry, Kris Jones is an angel investor, entrepreneur, best-selling author, and public speaker. He is the founder and former CEO and President of Pepperjam, which he later sold to GSI Commerce in 2009. Pepperjam was then sold to NASDAQ – EBAY. While working with the organization Pepperjam was recognized as one of the fastest expanding privately owned companies in the US by Inc. Magazine for three consecutive years. The company was also recognized as one of the best places to work in Pennsylvania by Happenings Magazine.

After his departure from Pepperjam, Jones founded KBJ Capital in 2010. KBJ Capital is an early stage technology investment fund and includes portfolio companies such as Yumm.com, Highlighter.com, LavCup, VigLink, APPEK Mobile Apps, Pathmapp, ReferLocal.com, and Internet Media Labs.

In addition to being founder of Pepperjam and KBJ Capital, Kris Jones is also the best-selling author of the book Search Engine Optimization: Your Visual Blueprint for Effective Internet Marketing. The book has sold over 30,000 copies and can be found in bookstores nationwide. The book has been the top selling book on the topic of search marketing every year since its first publication in 2008.

In 2008 Jones was nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award and was recognized as a finalist. He had previously been recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year by Bank of America in 2005.

When not working he enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with his family which includes his wife Robyn and their three children, Kris Jr., Jackson, and Lauren. The family also has a cat named Persy, two dogs named Bentley and Roxy, and 14 Koi fish.
